Be Love Now: The Path of the Heart
In Be Love Now – Ram Dass provides a wonderful and rich tribute to primarily to his Maharaj-ji, his Indian guru who more than 40 years ago told him to love everybody, he shares, “I said, ‘I can’t.’ That was my ego talking. He said, ‘Love everybody.’ He wasn’t listening to my ego. In that moment I saw my dying ego and who I was becoming. I looked between him and me and had a vision of a coffin, and my old self was in the coffin. I had to give up. He just wasn’t going to honor my ego any longer.”
His guru taught him that it is possible to transform personal love into impersonal love. Ram Dass shares the following of his practice of the teaching:
“I have a practice in which I say to myself, I am loving awareness. To begin, I focus my attention in the middle of my chest, on the heart-mind. I may take a few deep breaths into my diaphragm to help me identify with it. I breathe in love and breathe out love. I watch all of the thoughts that create the stuff of my mind, and I love everything, love everything I can be aware of. I just love, just love, just love.”

The Way of Liberation by Adyashanti
The Way of Liberation is an easy to understand, practical guide to spiritual liberation also referred to as self-realization, awakening, enlightenment or simply, Truth. There is no way to understand what is meant by these terms unless ones realizes them for themselves rather than even trying to wrap the mind around it which actually can interfere with the unfolding of it. As one realizes what is not absolutely true, leads to what is infinitely true.
Spiritual teachers are not her to answer questions to life’s biggest questions but quite the opposite. A wise spiritual teacher will question your answers for it is a individual’s own conscious and unconscious assumptions and/or beliefs they carry which actually distort their perception causing them to see see much separation and division in life instead of the truth that all is unity and completeness.
The Reality pointed to by these teachings are not a secret, they are not hidden nor only for a select few, in fact, they are already here, within you right in this moment. This is not something one deserves, earns or figures out. This reality and completeness is already right here in plain sight. And, in fact, keep in mind that the only thing there is to actually see, hear, smell, taste, touch or feel is Reality or God, if you like. This absolute completeness we are speaking of, surrounds us wherever we go. There really is no reason to bother ourselves about it but to understand that the fact is that we human beings, long ago, started to deceive ourselves and it has evolved into such a confined tangle of confusion and disarray, that we have found ourselves in a place where can scarcely even consider, much less experience for ourselves, the divinity within and all around us, we just cannot see or imagine it, too much is in the way!
The Way of Liberation is a call to action; it is something you do, a doing which will undo you absolutely. If you do not apply the teaching, if you do not choose to study and apply it fearlessly, transformation cannot happen. This is not a belief system but a practice so in this sense, the book and its points are entirely practical.
To read this book in the safety of spectator would be to miss the point, but understand that being an active participant in your own awakening to Truth may not be easy nor may it be safe. The way to this liberation is unpredictable, the commitment absolute, the results we are not able to define nor guaranteed. ~Excerpted from the Introduction of The Way of Liberation by Adyashanti.
